Huang Guan Coffee started as a very small farm of only 20mu. Xia Bin, a former technical staff member at the Pu’er Institute of Agricultural Science, founded the company with his partner in Simaogang town in 2007.  Supported by Nestle he began to learn about coffee production.

 People from Huang Guan developed their own unique agricultural technology to grow seedlings, cultivate coffee trees, and manage the farm. Step by step, Huang Guan now owns 2 Arabica coffee plantations covering 2000mu. These two plantations are located on the Lixian River and the Lancang rivers respectively. It’s a typical rainforest coffee plantation pattern where coffee trees are planted under the shade trees of the forest. In this way, they protect ecosystem and realize sustainable development.

 Huang Guan currently sells to well-known companies like Starbucks and Louis Dreyfus, producing over 3000 tons annually.
